“I think even her [Neerja’s] soul would cringe today at taking this undeserved adulation.”
Neerja, a Sonam Kapoor-starrer based on the life of Neerja Bhanot and the Pan Am flight hijacking, was released on February 19.
Neerja Bhanot, a flight attendant, was on the 1986 Mumbai to U.S. Pan Am flight which was hijacked in Karachi. She was killed trying to save three children.

Yesterday, Sonam Kapoor shared this comment by one of Neerja Bhanot's classmates, who thanked her for the film personally and on behalf of all of Neerja's batchmates, Bombay Scottish Alumni '78.
However, not everyone who knew Neerja seems happy with the film. Here are some comments Bhanot's colleagues, who were present on the same flight, left on Facebook regarding the movie.
The film was called "pure fiction" and "unfair propagation". Noopur Abrol, Astrid Lobo, and Adele Pinto-Naicker worked with Bhanot. The Quint reports the comments were made on this Facebook post, but have since been deleted.
