This Woman’s Response To David Cameron May Be The Biggest Post-Colonial Clapback Ever
“Perhaps the REALEST segment a primetime news programme has ever broadcast on the British Empire.” H/T Writers Of Colour.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced a special programme worth £20 million of funding, to teach the English language to Muslim women immigrants in the country in January.
His suggestion for Muslim women learn English as a measure to "tackle extremism" was not well-received, and his blaming "traditional submissiveness of Muslim women" as a factor of Islamic radicalisation was criticised as well.
Cameron also suggested that the women could be deported if they didn't speak English fluently enough.

Two days ago, Channel 4 News posted a video interviewing a group of Muslim women living in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, regarding Cameron's stance.
This group, mostly comprising Pakistani women, holds meetings at a community centre, and the discourse is held in Urdu.

Facebook page Writers Of Colour shared some really powerful screenshots from the video, which are now going viral.
It was captioned, "Perhaps the REALEST segment a primetime news programme has ever broadcast on the British Empire".

While the group was divided on learning English being made mandatory, one Pakistani woman, Parveen Sadiq, had this to say.

Indian Widows Celebrated Holi At A Temple For The First Time And It Was Beautiful
*Heart fills with joy*
Non-governmental organisation Sulabh International organised Holi celebrations in the city of Vrindavan, India, for widows living at a shelter.
Traditionally, Hindu widows are expected to not indulge in worldly pleasures and live very plain lives, void of fun and festivity. Hindu widows have broken the taboo by participating in Holi festivities before; however, this was the first time they did so at a temple (Gopinath temple).
These women have been abandoned by their families, but they had their shelter companions to have fun with, and doused each other in coloured water and powder.

She revealed that she drinks a big teaspoon of warm, molten ghee from a little cup every day.
And not just any time of the day, but the first thing in the morning. *shudder*
Yup, you read right. Ghee, without which most desi food is incomplete, which you have been consuming your whole life if you're South Asian.
According to Kourtney's website, ghee is "rich in oil-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, as well as K2 and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) antioxidants", which is the longer version of your mom telling you that another paratha won't hurt.

Use the 🙏 desi gift 🙏 of coconut oil as a makeup remover.
Most makeup removers contain alcohol, which can be harsh on the skin. Coconut oil is ALWAYS available, and removes the stubbornest of makeup ASAP. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and moisturises it.

Use coconut oil to shave.
Since coconut oil basically descended from heaven, you can also use to shave your legs (because sometimes, beach trips don't wait for your next waxing appointment). It reduces irritation and chances of razor burn.
