It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
A is for Aunty Ji
Aunty Ji: The stereotype of a judgmental older desi woman who loves to cause family-politics drama and feeds on spewing negativity about other women. She has mostly been conditioned into it by years of being bombarded by patriarchal notions.
A stereotype we hope to smash when we're older.

B is for Badnaami
Badnaami: Losing face, or gaining a bad reputation in society. But society is patriarchal as hell; therefore badnaami isn't something we should worry about when considering things like reporting sexual abuse, getting a divorce, or coming out.

C is for Cigarette
Cigarette: Tobacco rolled in paper, and the smoking of which is acceptable if men do it, but horrifying and dishonoring if women do it.
Equally bad for man lungs and woman lungs, however, so society can fuck off with that bullshit.

D is for Dahej
Dahej (dowry): The material price a bride's family is, for whatever twisted reason, expected to pay to the groom's family. This tradition is nowhere near over, but less blatant with the use of comforting lines like "it'll only be a gift for your daughter!"
This shit needs to stop.
